Answers to the questions people ask before their first render: what to upload, which vehicles work, how long a clip is, what it costs, and what you can post.

Roadster AI video FAQ: photos, limits, credits and rights

This is the long-form FAQ for the studio. The short version is on the landing page; this page goes deeper on the questions that come up after the first render.

What exactly does the tool do?

It turns one photo of a vehicle, plus an optional text prompt, into a short fictional video. The model is Seedance 2.0. You choose the scene, the resolution, the length and the aspect ratio. The server charges credits, moderates the input, submits the job to the provider, and stores the result against your account.

The output is an MP4 with no watermark. It is not a live 3D render and it is not a template with your photo pasted in. Every frame is generated.

What photo works best?

One clear, well-lit photo of the whole vehicle, with the wheels in frame. A three-quarter front or side view is the most forgiving. Daylight is better than a single streetlight. The car should fill at least a third of the frame.

What fails: a cropped bumper, heavy motion blur, a car hidden behind a hedge, a night photo with one harsh light source, a photo taken from far away and cropped digitally. The model can only preserve what it can see.

If you have a choice, upload the sharpest photo you have, not the most flattering one. Sharpness matters more than composition.

Do I need a Tesla Roadster?

No. Any car, truck, van, bicycle, carriage or skateboard works. The prompt tells the model to keep the vehicle in the photo. It does not replace it with a Roadster.

In fact, the trend is funnier with an ordinary car. A hatchback doing a ramp jump is a joke; a hypercar doing one is a commercial.

Do I need a prompt?

No. The four presets are complete prompts. Pick one and press Generate. If you want a specific action, edit the preset or write your own. The prompt box is optional, but if you leave it empty and do not pick a preset, the model has nothing to direct.

Text-only generation works too: leave the photo empty and describe the car as well as the scene. The result will not be your car, because there is no car to preserve.

How long is a clip?

Five, eight, ten or twelve seconds. Twelve is the default and the standard. The price scales linearly from the 12-second base and rounds up to a whole credit.

There is no 30-second or 60-second option. Longer outputs are usually stitched from multiple generations and introduce continuity errors. For social, 8–12 seconds is the right length.

What resolution should I choose?

480p for drafts, 720p for social, 1080p for the final master. The price difference is large: 20, 35 and 90 credits for a 12-second clip.

Start at 480p when testing a new prompt. Once the action works, re-render at 720p or 1080p. Do not burn 1080p credits on an untested prompt.

How much does it cost?

A 720p 12-second clip is 35 credits; a 1080p clip is 90. One-time packs start at $9.90 for 35 credits. Subscriptions start at $9.90 per month for 35 credits.

A full table is on the pricing page, and the cost guide explains which pack fits which posting rhythm.

Is there a free trial?

No. Email accounts start at zero credits. There is no daily check-in, no sign-up bonus and no free generation. The smallest purchase is the $9.90 Single pack.

The reason is abuse: a free credit drop is farmed by scripted accounts, and the model cost is real. A small paid entry keeps the price low for everyone else.

Do credits expire?

It depends on the source. Monthly subscription credits expire at the end of the billing month. Yearly subscription credits are valid for the billing year. One-time pack credits never expire. The three balances are tracked separately, and the credits that expire soonest are spent first.

What happens if a render fails?

The credits return to the balance they came from. The task is marked failed, and you can retry with the same settings. A failed attempt does not double-charge. Moderation refusals also return the credits.

A successful render you do not like is not refunded. Use the cheap resolution for experiments.

Is there a watermark?

No. Every successful render is a clean MP4. There is no paid unlock to remove a watermark, and no watermarked preview tier.

Can I use the clip commercially?

Yes, subject to the terms. You own the render. You are responsible for how you publish it, including platform rules on synthetic media. Label the clip as AI-generated if it could be mistaken for real footage.

Is this affiliated with Tesla or SpaceX?

No. Roadster AI Video is an independent creative tool. It does not reproduce Tesla footage, and it does not claim any connection to Tesla, SpaceX or the creators of the viral clips.

Can I upload a photo of a person?

Only if the person is you, or has given consent. Do not upload minors, celebrities, public figures or strangers. The moderation layer will refuse some of these inputs, but the legal responsibility is yours.

Can I use a photo from a manufacturer's website?

Only if you have the right to use it. A press photo is licensed for editorial use, not for animating into your own video. Use your own photo or a properly licensed stock image.

Why does the car look different in the render?

AI video is probabilistic. The same prompt can produce a clean result on one run and a distorted body on the next. The most common causes are a fast camera move, a photo that only shows one side of the car, or a prompt with two actions.

Fix one variable at a time. Simplify the camera move first, then the action, then the background.

How long does a render take?

Most clips finish in a couple of minutes. A 1080p render can take longer, and a busy provider queue can add time. The page polls the real status; you can leave and come back. The task appears in My videos.

Where do I find my videos?

In My videos, under your account. Each item shows the status, the prompt, the credit cost and a download link when the render is ready. Renders are private to your account and are not published to a public feed.

Can I delete my account and media?

Yes. Write to support@roadsteraivideo.pro from the address on the account. We delete the profile, uploads and renders, and retain only the transaction records required by law.

Still stuck?

The troubleshooting guide lists the checks in order. If none of them help, email support with the task id and a screenshot.
